Buff Momo are the popular type of steamed or fried dumpling in Nepal.
The heart of Buff Momo lies in its filling. It features a flavorful combination of ground buffalo meat, a protein source and the meat is skillfully minced and then seasoned with a vibrant blend of spices, including ginger, garlic, cumin, and coriander. The aromatic spices not only enhance the flavor of the meat but also add a delightful depth to the overall taste.
The filling is then enveloped in a thin, delicate dough wrapper, meticulously folded and shaped into bite-sized dumplings. These mo:mo can be either steamed or fried to perfection. Steaming yields soft and supple dumplings, while frying creates a crispy, golden-brown exterior.
Our Buff Momo are served with a two dipping sauce, spicy chili garlic sauce and a tomato-Sesames chutney.
